Sandra Bullock Warns Fans About Social Media Scammers Using Her Name

Sandra Bullock is cautioning fans about online scammers pretending to be her. In a statement to People on Monday, February 3, the Two Weeks Notice star expressed deep concern for both her family’s safety and the innocent victims being deceived. However, she made it clear that she won’t be commenting further and will instead focus on working with law enforcement to handle the issue.

“Please be aware that I do not participate in any form of social media. Any accounts pretending to be me or anyone associated with me are fake accounts and have been created for financial gain or to exploit people around me,” said Bullock, 60.

Fake Accounts Targeting Bullock’s Family

The actress’s statement comes after her younger sister, Gesine Bullock-Prado, spoke out about the alarming number of scammers impersonating her online. On Sunday, February 2, Bullock-Prado shared that she frequently reports fake accounts and receives unsettling emails from men who believe they have a personal connection with Sandra through these fraudulent profiles.

She also posted screenshots of fake accounts pretending to be her and confirmed that, despite reporting them to both the platforms and a Meta representative, the accounts remained active. She reassured her followers that her real social media presence is solely focused on baking, cooking, animals, and gardening.

Social Media Scams on the Rise

Bullock-Prado also referenced a recent case where a French woman was tricked into sending over $800,000 to scammers posing as Brad Pitt. The fraudsters convinced her she was in a romantic relationship with the Hollywood star and needed to help pay his medical bills.

The victim admitted she was initially skeptical but struggled to tell real from fake due to her limited knowledge of social media.

With scams like these becoming increasingly common, Bullock and her sister are urging fans to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity.
