Mamie Gummer Files for Divorce After Six Years of Marriage

Mamie Gummer, best known for her role in The Good Wife, is officially ending her marriage to writer Mehar Sethi. The actress, who is also Meryl Streep’s eldest daughter, filed for divorce on Thursday, citing irreconcilable differences.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Mamie listed May 6, 2023, as the official date of separation. She is requesting joint legal and physical custody of their two children—5-year-old Peter and 3-year-old Mary. Additionally, she is seeking spousal support while asking the court to deny support for her estranged husband.

Mamie and Mehar tied the knot in February 2019, just two weeks before welcoming their first child. This marks Mamie’s second divorce, as she was previously married to actor Benjamin Walker.

Divorce seems to be a recurring theme in the Gummer-Streep family. Meryl Streep and her longtime husband, Don Gummer, announced their separation in September 2023, while Mamie’s sister, Grace Gummer, filed for divorce from her husband in 2020.

For now, Mamie is focused on co-parenting her children as she navigates this new chapter in her life.
