Killer Mike Sues Over Grammys Arrest, Blames Security Firms

Rapper Killer Mike is taking legal action over his controversial arrest at the 2024 Grammy Awards, claiming private security firms were responsible for the incident.

According to a new lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Killer Mike says security wrongfully detained him despite having the proper credentials to access the event. The rapper, who won multiple awards that night, was reportedly stopped while heading to the red carpet for photos and media interviews.

Allegations Against Security

Killer Mike is suing S&S Labor Force Inc. and JRM Private Security, the companies hired to handle security for the event. He argues that these firms gave their employees too much power, leading to his unlawful citizen’s arrest.

The lawsuit claims security physically restrained him in front of witnesses, causing public humiliation and emotional distress. He was eventually arrested by police and held in jail for hours, making him miss the chance to present an award on live television.

Case Dismissed, But Damage Done

Although Killer Mike was released after the Grammys, prosecutors later dropped all charges. However, he says the incident damaged his reputation and caused unnecessary stress and professional harm.

Now, the rapper is seeking damages from the security firms for what he calls an unjust and embarrassing ordeal.
