Justin Baldoni Expands Lawsuit Against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds with New Evidence

Justin Baldoni is doubling down on his legal battle against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, claiming he now has undeniable proof that they planned to take him down months before Lively filed her lawsuit. As a result, Baldoni has updated his lawsuit against the Hollywood power couple.

The New Evidence

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Baldoni’s legal team points to metadata found in an article by The New York Times (NYT) about Lively’s lawsuit. The metadata reportedly shows that NYT began working on the article as early as October 31, 2024—long before Lively’s lawsuit was publicly revealed.

His team claims that analyzing the HTML source code of the NYT article exposed a “message-embed-generator” with a timestamp from October 31. Baldoni argues this proves that the media outlet and Lively were already coordinating the attack against him well in advance.

Why It Matters

Baldoni believes this discovery is a game-changer, claiming it removes any legal protection that Lively, NYT, and others may have been relying on to shield themselves from accusations of defamation. His lawsuit now directly accuses them of a "malicious and reckless" smear campaign.

Baldoni is already suing NYT for $250 million, alleging they cherry-picked and doctored text messages to support Lively’s case. Separately, he’s seeking $400 million in damages from Lively and Reynolds, accusing them of orchestrating the entire scandal.

Baldoni’s Legal Team Speaks Out

Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, told TMZ:

“The decision to amend our lawsuit was a logical next step due to the overwhelming amount of new proof that has come to light. This fresh evidence corroborates what we knew all along—that, due to purely egotistical reasons, Ms. Lively and her entire team colluded for months to destroy reputations through a complex web of lies, false accusations, and the manipulation of illicitly received communications.”

Freedman also claims the growing public interest in the case has further exposed how deeply involved Lively and her representatives were in the alleged campaign against Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios.

The 150-Page Timeline

As part of the updated lawsuit, Baldoni’s team has submitted a detailed 150-page timeline outlining Lively’s alleged efforts to damage his reputation. The timeline reportedly stretches all the way back to January 1, 2019, when Baldoni first contacted Colleen Hoover, author of It Ends With Us. It meticulously tracks every major development leading up to January 29, 2025.

With tensions escalating and both sides digging in, this legal battle is far from over. Stay tuned for more updates.
