The lawsuit, filed by Scarlett Pavlovich, Gaiman’s former nanny, accuses the renowned author of multiple assaults while she worked for his family. Pavlovich also alleges that Palmer was aware of past abuse claims against Gaiman but did not act.
Palmer Breaks Her Silence
On Friday, Palmer took to Instagram with a written statement, saying, “I thank you all for continuing to respect my recent request for privacy as I navigate this extremely difficult moment. I must protect my young child and his right to privacy.”
She firmly denied the allegations, stating, “With that as my priority, I will not respond to the specific allegations being made against me except to say that I deny the allegations and will respond in due course. My heart goes out to all survivors.”
Gaiman Faces Mounting Accusations
According to the lawsuit, the alleged assaults began in 2022 when Palmer asked Pavlovich to babysit. Pavlovich claims this led to an incident where Gaiman coerced her into taking a bath, joined her, and sexually assaulted her. She further alleges that Palmer told her multiple women had previously come forward with similar accusations against Gaiman.
These claims follow a recent New York magazine exposé, in which several women accused Gaiman of sexual misconduct. In response, Gaiman denied wrongdoing, stating that the encounters were consensual. “Some of the horrible stories now being told simply never happened, while others have been so distorted from what actually took place that they bear no relationship to reality,” he wrote in a blog post.
What Happens Next?
With legal proceedings now underway, both Gaiman and Palmer are facing public scrutiny. While Palmer maintains her innocence, Gaiman insists he will not accept false accusations.
As the case unfolds, the entertainment world watches closely, waiting for the next chapter in this high-profile controversy.
