Adrien Brody Shares Hilarious Prosthetic Nose Mix-Up on The Tonight Show

Adrien Brody had The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon audience in stitches as he shared a funny mix-up from the set of his latest movie, The Brutalist. During his appearance on Monday, February 3, Brody recounted how a crew member mistakenly thought his real nose was a prosthetic.

The 51-year-old actor explained that the film required extensive prosthetic work, leading to some confusion. "They were removing this apparatus all over me, and this woman was busily working away with a solvent on my nose," Brody recalled.

When he noticed what was happening, he asked her, "Are you trying to remove that?" She simply replied, "Yes."

Brody then had to break the news to her: "That doesn't come off." Realizing her mistake, the crew member quickly apologized, laughing that the moment was going in her diary. Brody quipped, "Now it's going in my talk show repertoire."

The Brutalist and Brody’s Oscar Nomination

Brody stars in The Brutalist as fictional Hungarian-Jewish architect László Tóth, who arrives in the U.S. in 1947 after surviving World War II and the Holocaust. The film is up for 10 awards at the 97th Academy Awards in March, including Best Actor for Brody.

This nomination comes over two decades after he became the youngest man ever to win Best Actor for The Pianist in 2003. Reflecting on his career, Brody told Fallon, "I was very young then and I've gained a lot of perspective. I've had a wonderful career with plenty of peaks and valleys, and I have a tremendous amount of appreciation for this moment."

Will Timothée Chalamet Break Brody’s Oscar Record?

Brody’s record as the youngest Best Actor winner could be broken this year if Timothée Chalamet wins for A Complete Unknown, where he portrays Bob Dylan. Other nominees in the category include Colman Domingo (Sing Sing), Ralph Fiennes (Conclave), and Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice).

Before the Oscars, Brody will also compete for Best Actor at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards on February 7 and the SAG Awards on February 23.

With The Brutalist gaining major awards buzz, Brody is enjoying a well-deserved moment in the spotlight—prosthetic-free!
