Wildfires Ravage L.A., Destroying Homes of Anna Faris, Mandy Moore, and Other Celebrities

A devastating series of wildfires continues to sweep through Los Angeles County, leaving destruction in its wake. Among the hardest-hit areas is Pacific Palisades, where actress Anna Faris' home has been destroyed. Her representative confirmed that she and her family are safe and grateful amidst the chaos.

Faris, known for her roles in Scary Movie and Just Friends, purchased the home in 2019 after her split from Chris Pratt, with whom she shares a 12-year-old son, Jack. She now lives with her husband, cinematographer Michael Barrett.

The Palisades Fire, fueled by relentless Santa Ana winds, ignited Tuesday in Pacific Palisades and quickly spread to Malibu and Santa Monica. By Wednesday night, five other fires, including the Eaton, Hurst, Woodley, Lidia, and Sunset fires, had erupted across the county. The Sunset Fire, which began Wednesday evening, is now threatening iconic landmarks like the Hollywood Bowl, Runyon Canyon, and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Tragically, at least five lives have been lost, and all but one of the fires remain completely uncontained.

Celebrity Homes Destroyed

The fires have wreaked havoc on the homes of several high-profile celebrities. Mandy Moore, Billy Crystal, Cary Elwes, and Paris Hilton are among those whose homes have been reduced to ashes.

Billy Crystal and his wife Janice, who lost their Pacific Palisades home of nearly 50 years, expressed their heartbreak, saying, "Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories can’t be taken away. We will get through this with the love of our family and friends."

Moore, devastated by the loss of her home to the Eaton Fire, shared, “I’m absolutely numb.”

Meanwhile, Cary Elwes of The Princess Bride fame confirmed his family’s safety despite losing his Palisades home. Paris Hilton called the loss of her Malibu residence “heartbreaking beyond words.”

Other Notable Losses

The fires have also consumed homes belonging to Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Eugene Levy, and John Goodman. Levy, who serves as the honorary mayor of Pacific Palisades, evacuated early and described the intense smoke over Temescal Canyon as "very dark and ominous."

In addition to private residences, the Palisades Fire has engulfed Palisades Charter High School, a popular filming location, and iconic Malibu restaurants such as Reel Inn, Moonshadows, and Cholada Thai.

A Community in Crisis

With over 130,000 residents impacted, these fires mark a catastrophic moment for Los Angeles. First responders continue to battle the flames, but the fight is far from over. As the region comes to grips with the devastation, stories of resilience and community support are emerging, offering hope amidst the ashes.
