Vivica A. Fox Reflects on Intense Training for Kill Bill and Embracing Life at 60

Vivica A. Fox recently opened up about the rigorous preparation she underwent to play the role of Vernita Green in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill films. In an interview with Cocoa Butter's YouTube channel, the 60-year-old actress reminisced about her iconic character, also known as Copperhead, and the six months of intense martial arts training required for the part.

“I literally went from a size 8/10 down to a size 2,” Fox shared. “I thought we were training for the Olympics. It was crazy.” Despite the grueling process, she found the transformation rewarding. “When I saw how tight and right my body looked, it was quite rewarding,” she joked, “So, Quentin, thanks for the great bod. Appreciate that!”

Fox, who performed nearly all her own stunts, highlighted the intensity of the fight scenes, particularly her memorable brawl with Uma Thurman’s character, The Bride. “The choreography was vicious,” she said. However, there was one stunt Tarantino didn’t allow her to attempt—falling into a glass table. “He was afraid I’d get cut, and sure enough, my stunt double got four stitches,” Fox recalled.

Beyond Kill Bill, Fox reflected on aging gracefully and maintaining her youthful look. “I drink my water, take care of myself, and stay happy,” she told PEOPLE last year. Inspired by icons like Tina Turner and Sophia Loren, Fox embraces her age with confidence. “I’m sizzling at 60, and I plan to be even sexier at 70 and awesome at 80, Lord willing.”

Fox’s career is busier than ever, with projects in acting, directing, producing, and even ventures like a hairline and clothing line. “I had no idea this chapter of my life would be so booked, busy, and blessed,” she said. “I’m grateful for all the opportunities coming my way.”

With her unstoppable energy and timeless charisma, Vivica A. Fox continues to inspire fans and redefine what it means to thrive at any age.
