TikTok Saved by 2 Billion Users, Says Influencer Sophie Rain

While Donald Trump is being credited by some for saving TikTok amid the U.S. shutdown drama, TikTok star and OnlyFans model Sophie Rain believes the real heroes are the platform's users. Sophie, who boasts over 10 million followers on TikTok, tells TMZ that she doesn’t expect the China-based app to shut down permanently in the U.S. – and it's all thanks to the billions of users who create the content that keeps the app indispensable.

Though Trump has secured a 75-day extension for TikTok in the U.S. after President Biden decided not to enforce the ban before leaving office, Sophie thinks the whole situation has become overly political and feels it’s just “silly.” She argues that it’s the app’s content creators—both individuals and businesses—that are responsible for TikTok’s massive popularity and global reach, making it too valuable to disappear.

Sophie admits there was a bit of panic when the app went dark for a few hours recently, but she was always confident it would come back. However, there’s a catch: TikTok is currently unavailable for download in U.S. app stores. Those who deleted the app now face high prices on eBay for phones with TikTok pre-installed.

Sophie finds the secondary market for the app “absurd” but remains optimistic that TikTok will soon return to American app stores for download. Maybe once the dust settles, Trump will even appoint Sophie as TikTok’s special ambassador!
