Former Hollyoaks Star Paul Danan Dies at 46

Paul Danan, best known for his role in Hollyoaks, has passed away at the age of 46, his management confirmed earlier today.

In a statement, Independent Creative Management said:
“It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the passing of @pauldanan at just 46 years old. Known for his television presence, exceptional talent, and unwavering kindness, Paul was a beacon of light to so many. His untimely departure will leave irreplaceable voids in the lives of all who knew him.”

The statement also requested privacy for Danan’s loved ones during this difficult time, with no further comments to be made.

Born in 1978, Danan first rose to fame at just 19 years old as Sol Patrick, a troubled yet charming character on Channel 4's Hollyoaks. His portrayal of Sol, a homeless teen with a fiery streak, made him one of the standout stars of that era. Danan left the show in 2001 but continued to make waves in the entertainment industry.

He also appeared on CBBC’s The Queen’s Nose and became a reality TV favorite, featuring in ITV’s original Celebrity Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother. In later years, he openly discussed his struggles with substance addiction, including an emotional appearance on The Jeremy Kyle Show.

Danan’s passing follows the death of another former Hollyoaks actor, Diane Langton, who played Marlena McQueen. She passed away just days earlier at the age of 77.
