Spencer, 41, shared the harrowing experience with his followers on TikTok early Wednesday, January 8, documenting the fire's rapid approach. “Oh wow, it’s back there!” he exclaimed in a video showing flames looming over their backyard fence. He captioned the video, “Nightmare came true.”
Earlier, Spencer posted a video of the fire from a distance, expressing concern for their safety and the surrounding community. “Say a prayer for the Palisades,” he urged, while showing smoke and fire creeping closer to residential areas. Questioning emergency efforts, he asked, “Where are the airplanes that drop the water?”
Heidi, 38, also shared a video on TikTok, holding their youngest child while announcing their mandatory evacuation. “There’s a fire right over our house, so please say some prayers for us,” she said.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the wildfire prompted the evacuation of approximately 30,000 residents in Pacific Palisades and neighboring communities. The high winds and dry conditions have exacerbated the fire's spread, leaving many homes in ruins.
Spencer’s sister, Stephanie Pratt, 38, shared her anguish from London. She revealed that the fire was also threatening her Los Angeles home. “I’m frozen in shock. How horrible for my sweet little nephews to watch their house disappear like this,” she wrote on Instagram. “I am beyond heartbroken for my brother, Heidi, and the kids.”
Stephanie further shared that their father had tried to save Spencer and Heidi's home but was thwarted by strong winds. “There was nothing he could do,” she wrote. Stephanie also noted that her parents safely evacuated but were monitoring the fire’s progression toward their house via security cameras.
Expressing solidarity with her community, Stephanie added, “We are such a tight community. I’m at a loss for words knowing so many friends have lost their homes today and so quickly.”
