Kim Kardashian Criticized for Promoting Skims Amid Los Angeles Wildfires

As devastating wildfires rage across Los Angeles, Kim Kardashian is under fire herself—this time for promoting her Skims brand during the crisis. Writer and comedian Meredith Lynch took to Instagram to call out Kardashian, labeling her actions "unhinged" and criticizing her lack of attention to the ongoing disaster.

The Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst wildfires have ravaged the region since Tuesday, claiming at least ten lives, destroying thousands of properties, and displacing nearly 180,000 people. On Wednesday and Thursday, two more fires—Lidia and Kenneth—broke out, further straining resources. Firefighters are working tirelessly to contain the flames.

Despite the chaos, Kardashian shared a now-expired Instagram Story promoting a Skims winter sale, complete with a countdown clock. This prompted Lynch to post a scathing video on her Instagram, where she accused the reality star of being out of touch.

"LA is burning, and Kimberly Noel is posting about Skims," Lynch said. "No resources, no 'thoughts and prayers,' just a sale countdown." She urged Kardashian to use her massive platform to share critical information for those affected by the fires.

Lynch also criticized Kardashian's social media team for not stepping in, saying, "They should've pulled those posts and replaced them with resources for evacuees."

Public reactions were mixed. Some commenters echoed Lynch's frustration, calling Kardashian "appalling" for her apparent indifference. Others defended her, pointing out that social media content is often pre-scheduled and that Kardashian has contributed to philanthropic efforts in the past.

Kardashian’s $70 million Malibu mansion, located near the Pacific Coast Highway—currently dubbed a "hellscape"—is not in an evacuation zone, but the fires threaten nearby areas.
