During an appearance on I Am Athlete Daily on Monday, Kayla shared her thoughts on the Chiefs’ pursuit of a third straight Super Bowl. Despite witnessing their success up close for years, she admitted the excitement has faded for her.
"I’m rooting for the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship this weekend," Kayla revealed. "It’s time for someone new to take the throne."
When asked by former NFL star Brandon Marshall what makes Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes so special, Kayla praised his skills, game intelligence, and leadership. She also gave credit to head coach Andy Reid and the electric atmosphere at Arrowhead. Surprisingly, she even mentioned Kelce, calling him a reliable player with "sure hands."
Kayla’s comments come after she publicly addressed her decision to step away from the Mahomes family amid their growing friendship with Kelce’s current partner, Taylor Swift. She explained it was a move to protect herself emotionally while others moved on.
Despite her personal history with the team, Kayla made it clear she’s staying professional in her role at I Am Athlete. "I’ll talk about Kelce or the Chiefs when it’s necessary," she said, showing she’s focused on her career over past relationships.
