Justin Baldoni Accuses Ryan Reynolds of Ambush and Aggression in Lawsuit: Source Says Claims Are Exaggerated

Justin Baldoni’s claims that Ryan Reynolds screamed at him during an “ambush” meeting are being called exaggerated by someone present at the event.

Baldoni, who directed and starred in It Ends With Us, alleged in a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times that Reynolds berated him at a meeting in January 2024. The meeting was held at Reynolds and Blake Lively’s New York City home, with Baldoni describing the encounter as “traumatic.”

However, a source who attended the meeting tells TMZ that while Reynolds was “angry and stern,” he did not scream or berate Baldoni. The source characterized Reynolds’ tone as “impassioned” rather than aggressive.

According to the source, the meeting was planned to address concerns about Baldoni’s behavior as the movie prepared to resume production after industry strikes. The source denies claims that the meeting blindsided Baldoni, stating, “Everyone in attendance knew the agenda.”

Baldoni’s lawsuit also painted the meeting as chaotic, with celebrities “milling around” in Reynolds and Lively’s penthouse. The source disputed this, saying the event was private and no other stars were present.

This legal drama is part of a larger dispute involving Lively, who has filed her own lawsuit against Baldoni and others, alleging mental anguish, emotional distress, and financial losses. Baldoni is one of 10 plaintiffs, including publicists Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel, who are suing The New York Times.

Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, has pushed back against Lively’s claims, calling them “false, outrageous, and designed to harm.”

The legal battle continues to unfold, with both sides trading accusations and defending their reputations.
