Chanel Maya Banks Accused of Stirring Family Drama to Revive Acting Career

Former actress Chanel Maya Banks is making headlines once again, but this time, it's not for her acting. According to private investigator Sonny Elliott, her family believes Chanel is manufacturing drama to breathe life into her once-failing career.

Elliott, hired by Chanel's mother, Lutchmin Judy Kumar, and cousin Danielle, told TMZ that the family’s concern for Chanel appears genuine. He dismissed allegations Chanel made in a recent restraining order filing, claiming she’s blocked her family from contacting her via phone and social media.

"This looks like a calculated attempt to revive an acting career that fizzled out years ago," Elliott said.

The family drama traces back to Chanel’s trip to Texas. While she claims she went there to be baptized by her favorite pastor, Elliott suggests she initially traveled to write about a religious cult and eventually got caught up in it.

Danielle also weighed in, stating, "This is all about her trying to grab the last 15 minutes of fame. We now believe she’s using this for publicity and to bring attention to the 'church' or cult she’s involved with."

Last week, Chanel filed for a restraining order against Judy and Danielle, accusing them of harassment, theft, and threats. However, a judge declined to issue a temporary order, citing "uncorroborated allegations."

A court hearing where Chanel will present her case is scheduled for January 16. Meanwhile, her family insists their actions stem from love and concern, not malice.

Whether this is a publicity stunt or a genuine family feud remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—Chanel Maya Banks is back in the spotlight, even if it’s for all the wrong reasons.
