Busta Rhymes Faces Assault Charges After Alleged Altercation with Assistant

Rapper Busta Rhymes is facing multiple assault charges following an alleged physical altercation with his assistant, Dashiel Gables, in New York City on January 10.

According to law enforcement sources, the incident began when Busta and Gables got into an argument in the lobby of Gables’ Brooklyn condo building. The dispute reportedly started over Gables being on his phone during work hours. What began as a verbal disagreement soon escalated into violence, with Busta reportedly striking Gables multiple times in the face.

Following the alleged assault, Busta Rhymes fled the scene, while Gables immediately contacted 911. Emergency responders arrived quickly, and Gables was transported to a nearby hospital to treat an eye injury.

On Tuesday, Busta Rhymes turned himself in to the NYPD. He was issued a desk appearance ticket (DAT), which means he must appear in court to face charges of misdemeanor assault, attempted assault, and harassment.

The case is still under investigation, and further details may emerge as the situation develops.
