Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Push for Gag Order in Defamation Battle with Justin Baldoni

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are intensifying their legal fight against It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni. The Hollywood power couple has requested a gag order, accusing Baldoni's legal team of making defamatory public statements about them.

Their attorney, Esra Hudson, filed a letter with Judge Lewis J. Liman, arguing that enforcing ethical conduct among legal professionals is not a gag order but a way to ensure fair judicial proceedings.

Hudson explained in the filing, "The Wayfarer Parties are drawing a dangerous false equivalence that could have serious implications for other women facing workplace harassment, given the high profile of this case."

The lawsuit comes after Baldoni's lawyer dismissed the couple’s previous gag order request, calling it "an intimidation tactic" tied to attorney disciplinary rules.

Baldoni’s team pushed back, claiming the It Ends With Us director has already faced significant damage, including losing three jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars due to media coverage of the allegations. Baldoni's lawyer said, "All Justin wants is to release videos and messages to prove his innocence."

The legal dispute stems from behind-the-scenes allegations that have sparked reputational and financial fallout on both sides. Baldoni’s team likened the situation to previous high-profile Hollywood feuds, describing it as a "coordinated media attack."

As of now, a hearing date for the gag order request has not been set.
