Beach Boys' Al Jardine Faces $100K Lawsuit Over Alleged Merch Snub

Al Jardine, co-founder of the legendary Beach Boys, is caught in legal trouble over claims he refused to sign merchandise he allegedly agreed to autograph.

According to the lawsuit filed by Mead Chasky, Jardine had committed to signing memorabilia advertised as "signed by three members of The Beach Boys." However, Chasky's attorney, Matthew J. Blit, says Jardine didn’t fulfill his end of the deal, breaching a contractual obligation.

Chasky is now seeking $100,000 in damages and is asking Jardine to cover legal fees.

Jardine, who co-founded the Beach Boys in 1961 alongside Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, as well as their cousin Mike Love, has been a significant figure in the band’s six-decade legacy. Despite the group’s history of internal disputes, Jardine continues to occasionally perform with them.

Last year, Jardine released a single titled Wish, dedicated to longtime bandmate Brian Wilson, with part of the proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

For now, it seems Jardine might need a bit of "Good Vibrations" to resolve this legal wave.
