Ali Fedotowsky Opens Up About Awkward Ellen DeGeneres Experience

Former Bachelorette star Ali Fedotowsky has joined the chorus of voices sharing less-than-stellar encounters with Ellen DeGeneres. On Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Off the Vine podcast, Ali revealed that her 2010 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show left her feeling “pretty not great.”

Ali recalled feeling like Ellen was laughing at her rather than with her as she nervously tried to charm the audience. The awkwardness stemmed from Ellen’s reaction, which Ali interpreted as dismissive.

Despite her experience, Ali didn’t outright slam the talk show host. Instead, she chalked it up to the monotony of Ellen’s demanding job. She even joked that Ellen likely saw her as just another “24-year-old famous-for-no-reason” reality star, adding, “She was probably thinking, ‘I gotta talk to one of these idiots again?’”

Kaitlyn Bristowe, herself a Bachelorette alum, shared that she’d heard similar stories about Ellen and felt fortunate to have avoided appearing on the show. Reflecting on the moment, Kaitlyn said, “They say, ‘Don’t meet your heroes,’ and she was mine all the time.”

Ellen has faced her share of public criticism, including a 2020 workplace toxicity scandal that led to her show’s cancellation in 2022. In response, she has slowly reemerged, addressing her reputation in her Netflix stand-up special, For Your Approval, and standing firm in her identity.

While the Ellen era has closed, stories like Ali’s keep sparking conversations about celebrity interactions and the pressures of fame.
