Armie Hammer is shedding light on his life since stepping away from Hollywood in 2021, following a series of serious allegations. On a recent appearance on the Your Mom's House podcast, Hammer shared his thoughts on the whirlwind of events that led to his exit from the entertainment industry.

The actor, best known for Call Me By Your Name, reflected on the chaotic state of the world during the COVID pandemic, noting how it contributed to the sensational nature of the rumors surrounding him. "The world seemed like it was falling apart," Hammer said. "And then this salacious story comes around where this actor wants to murder and eat people."

In January 2021, Hammer faced disturbing allegations of sexual assault, leading him to quit social media. Two months later, his ex-girlfriend Effie Angelova accused him of rape and other violent acts. The allegations, along with others, led to multiple lawsuits and caused Hammer to leave Hollywood. For a time, he worked selling timeshares in the Cayman Islands.

In May 2023, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office decided not to press charges, citing "insufficient evidence" and the "complexity of the relationship" between Hammer and his accuser. Despite this, the actor continued to face backlash, with some accusing him of harboring cannibalistic fantasies.

During the podcast, Hammer addressed his sexuality, revealing that he enjoys a dominant role in intimate relationships, including expressing fantasies of possession and control. He emphasized that his private conversations, if taken out of context, could be misinterpreted. "If anyone took anyone's bedroom conversations and read them out of context, they'd be judged harshly," he said.

Hammer also reflected on the impact the controversy has had on his life, admitting that his children may eventually struggle with the legacy of his actions. "I’m well aware that my daughter and son are going to get to a certain point where they do therapy and go, ‘I hate my dad, too,’" he shared.
