In the interview, Jolie shared her thoughts on “pet peeves,” stating, “My pet peeve is somebody who is a liar. Somebody who feels a need to not say the truth or what they want, what they feel. People who say one thing and mean another, who aren't completely who they are.”
While Jolie didn’t name anyone, her remarks follow a years-long legal battle with Pitt, the father of their six children. Their divorce was finalized on December 30, marking the end of proceedings that began in September 2016.
Jolie’s attorney, James Simon, said she is “focused on finding peace and healing for their family,” adding, “Angelina is exhausted but relieved this part is over.” A representative for Pitt declined to comment.
A source close to Jolie told PEOPLE that she hopes Pitt will “move on” and “stop attacking her,” alleging that he has used “power and privilege to punish Angelina for leaving.” Meanwhile, a source close to Pitt refuted the claims, accusing Jolie of “one-sided attacks” and distorting facts.
Though their divorce is finalized, the exes remain entangled in a legal battle over Château Miraval, a French winery they once co-owned. Pitt has sued Jolie for selling her share of the property in 2021, allegedly violating their prior agreement.
For now, Jolie seems intent on turning the page, expressing her hope for a more peaceful future for herself and her family.
