Timothée Chalamet Nominated for Fourth Golden Globe for Playing Bob Dylan

Timothée Chalamet, 28, has earned his fourth Golden Globe nomination, this time for his role as music legend Bob Dylan in the biographical drama A Complete Unknown. The film is getting a lot of attention, and Chalamet’s performance is being praised by critics.

In the 2025 Golden Globe nominations, Chalamet is up for the Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama award. He is competing against Adrien Brody, Daniel Craig, Colman Domingo, Ralph Fiennes, and Sebastian Stan. Chalamet has previously been nominated for his roles in Call Me by Your Name, Beautiful Boy, and Wonka, but hasn’t won a Golden Globe yet.

Chalamet shared with SiriusXM that there’s something uniquely funny about losing after a nomination. He explained that he finds it hilarious when he has to rip up his acceptance speech after not winning. “You think to yourself, ‘What planet did you think you were gonna use this?’” he said.

His role as Bob Dylan has been especially praised. Chalamet not only acted but also sang and played guitar in the film. Variety's Owen Gleiberman described his performance as a powerful transformation into Dylan, capturing his voice, charisma, and unique personality.

Many believe Chalamet could also earn an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Dylan. A Complete Unknown opens in theaters on December 25.
