Selena Gomez Celebrates Golden Globe Nod, Highlights Women’s Support in Hollywood

Selena Gomez is basking in the glow of her recent Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Emilia Perez. Speaking at the Academy Women’s Luncheon Presented by Chanel in Los Angeles on Tuesday, the 32-year-old expressed her gratitude, saying she felt "overwhelmed, honored, and grateful."

The luncheon saw Gomez seated next to fellow nominee Ariana Grande, 31, who is recognized for her role in Wicked. Both stars, who rose to fame as child actors, were joined by a star-studded table including Amy Adams, Pamela Anderson, Gal Gadot, Mila Kunis, and Olivia Wilde.

In her keynote speech, Gomez reflected on the challenges of the entertainment industry, emphasizing the importance of community. "Moments like this remind me that I'm not alone," she shared. She encouraged young women in the industry, offering her support and humor as a way to stay positive amid negativity. "If you ever feel lonely, come up to me—I’ll be happy to chat," she said with a smile.

Gomez also spoke warmly of her Emilia Perez co-stars Zoe Saldaña and Karla Sofia Gascon, describing the supportive sisterhood they formed while working on the emotionally intense film.

The event celebrated the Academy Gold Fellowship for Women, a program supporting emerging female filmmakers. This year’s fellowships were awarded to Raha Amirfazli and Shadi Karamroudi, with Chanel’s sponsorship reflecting its commitment to fostering new talent.

Emilia Perez is now streaming on Netflix.
