In a heartfelt video recorded after a CT scan for radiation mapping, Eggert explained that she had not anticipated the tattoos would be permanent. "When they said they were gonna tattoo me, I didn’t realize it was actual, real tattoos," she said, breaking down in tears as she expressed the emotional toll of the experience.
Despite their small size, the tattoos serve as a constant reminder of her ongoing battle with cancer. "It’s minor, it’s nothing but dots, but boy, every step of this process is never gonna let you forget it," she said, her voice shaking.
Eggert, however, lightened the moment with some humor, joking about the neck tattoo she now has. "My mom’s gonna be really proud of my neck tattoo, but that’s OK," she said with a small laugh, showing her strength in the face of adversity.
The actress also shared more about the radiation mapping process, explaining that it’s crucial for targeting the cancer while minimizing damage to vital organs. She mentioned that some organs will inevitably be affected, but doctors are hopeful the impact will be minimal.
Eggert also expressed concern about the long-term effects of radiation, recalling how her father underwent radiation treatment for brain tumors, which led to devastating results. She grew emotional as she shared how her father was never the same after his treatment, reflecting the fear that the same could happen to her.
Eggert’s breast cancer journey began in December 2023, when she was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma. Since then, she has bravely kept her fans updated on her progress. In August, she shared that she had completed her initial treatment and was awaiting further imaging and possibly surgery.
Throughout her battle, Eggert has found strength and comfort in the support of her Baywatch family. At the premiere of the After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun docuseries, she was joined by co-stars like Carmen Electra, Alexandra Paul, and Jeremy Jackson, who showed their love and support for the project, which aired in late August.
