Renner, best known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has returned to acting and is currently writing a book about his ordeal. “I tried to push it away, but there are so many gifts that come from being tested to your limits of death,” he shared. Renner revealed the accident inspired deeper gratitude for the love and support in his life, saying, “That’s the only thing that matters.”
The actor also spoke about his music, highlighting a song called “Wait” from his album Love and Titanium. He wrote it for his daughter, inspired by the first words he said to her after the accident: “I asked her to wait for me and not to worry. I promised I’d get better.”
Renner has returned to acting with new projects, including the third season of Mayor of Kingstown and Rian Johnson’s upcoming film, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The film, featuring a star-studded cast including Daniel Craig, Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, and Andrew Scott, wrapped production this summer and is set for release next fall. Renner described it as a “killer cast” and promised audiences a thrilling experience.
Renner, an Oscar nominee for The Hurt Locker and The Town, has also starred in blockbusters like Avengers: Endgame and Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation.
