On Sunday, Bezos spoke out against the claims, comparing the situation to the spread of false information in today’s world. “This whole thing is completely false—none of this is happening,” he said. “The old saying, ‘Don’t believe everything you read,’ is even more true now than ever before.”
He didn’t stop there, adding, “Now lies can get ALL the way around the world before the truth can get its pants on.”
The rumors claimed that Bezos and Sanchez were planning to tie the knot at actor Kevin Costner’s ranch in Aspen, followed by a lavish reception at the upscale sushi restaurant Matsuhisa, which Bezos reportedly rented for 180 guests. While Bezos certainly has the money to pull it off, he insists the story isn’t true and denies any wedding celebration plans at this time.
Although the couple hasn’t shared when they plan to get married, Lauren Sanchez has hinted that she’s already thinking about her wedding dress. So, while wedding bells might not be ringing just yet, they’re clearly in the planning stages.
For now, fans will have to wait to hear official news from the couple themselves.
