Chris Zylka Arrested After Violent Altercation with Ohio Police

Chris Zylka, the actor and former fiancé of Paris Hilton, was involved in a violent altercation with Ohio police last week in a bizarre incident partially captured on body cam. The encounter occurred in Warren, a city about an hour east of Cleveland, after police received a report about a man attempting to break into a car with a driver inside. The suspect, later identified as Zylka, was found wearing pajama pants but no shirt or shoes in freezing 32-degree weather.

According to police, Zylka had tried to get into a woman’s car and was attempting to break the window. When officers arrived, Zylka was jumping around in the middle of an intersection and allegedly pointed a cell phone at them as if threatening them with a weapon. He appeared to be under the influence of drugs, foaming at the mouth, the police report stated.

Two detectives ordered Zylka to the ground, where he complied initially. However, as they tried to handcuff him, Zylka resisted, leading to a physical struggle. One detective was accidentally shocked by his colleague’s Taser while trying to subdue Zylka. Despite being Tasered twice in the leg, Zylka showed little reaction. A third detective eventually arrived, and together they managed to restrain him.

Body cam footage obtained by a local news station shows Zylka with a bloody nose, still resisting officers and paramedics as they placed him onto a gurney. Paramedics administered ketamine to help calm him. Zylka faces charges of felonious assault on police, with the report noting that his personal weapons included his hands, feet, fists, and teeth.

Although Zylka is no longer in custody, a warrant has been issued for his arrest, and authorities have not disclosed how or when he was released.
