Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Finalize Divorce After 8 Years of Legal Battles

Hollywood icons Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have officially concluded their lengthy divorce process, which spanned over eight years. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Angelina filed the final paperwork on Monday after signing off on Christmas Day.

In a surprising move, Angelina has chosen to forgo spousal and family support from Brad. The settlement does not cover agreements regarding their six children, as only their twins, Knox and Vivienne, are still minors.

The former power couple, famously nicknamed “Brangelina,” had been working toward a resolution earlier this year, with their legal teams exchanging financial disclosures—a step typically taken before finalizing a divorce.

A Tumultuous History

Angelina initially filed for divorce in September 2016, citing irreconcilable differences. Although they were married for just two years, Brad and Angelina were together for nearly a decade before tying the knot.

Their love story began in 2004 while filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith. However, Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston at the time, and the two only went public with their relationship in 2005. Together, they built a family with six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.

Legal Battles and Allegations

The divorce proceedings were further complicated by accusations of child abuse against Brad, which he denied. Authorities later cleared him of the allegations, but the claims continued to surface in court over the years.

By 2019, a judge declared Brad and Angelina legally single, despite the ongoing divorce case. Their legal drama extended beyond custody disputes, as they have also been embroiled in a heated lawsuit over their French winery, Château Miraval.

Brad sued Angelina for selling her share of the winery to a Russian oligarch’s company without his consent. Though Brad recently scored a legal victory, the case remains unresolved, with disputes over non-disclosure agreements continuing.

Moving Forward

Now that their divorce is finalized, fans are hopeful that the ex-couple might also put their winery feud to rest. For now, the chapter on their marriage has officially come to a close.

Stay tuned for more updates on this ongoing saga.
