“We love singing together,” Grande told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ll sing with her anywhere, anytime, especially to celebrate Wicked. She’s like my sister. Say the word, and we’ll be there.” Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the film, is also nominated for a Golden Globe and generating Oscar buzz for her performance.
At the event, Grande reflected on the warm reception for Wicked and the honor of hearing praise from her idols. She shared a special moment, recalling that Imogen Heap, her longtime musical inspiration, loved the film after watching it with her daughter. Grande also expressed her excitement about meeting Steven Spielberg, describing the experience as “incredibly overwhelming and such an honor.”
Grande attended the luncheon with her mother, Joan Grande, and spent time with fellow nominee Zoe Saldaña. The celebration was filled with stars, including Adam Brody, Pamela Anderson, Kathryn Hahn, Mikey Madison, Hiroyuki Sanada, Cooper Koch, and Kris Bowers, ahead of the January 5 awards show.
Wicked: For Good, the film’s second part, is set for release next year, adding to the anticipation surrounding the franchise.
