“That’s not true,” Kidman said. “That was not me; that was from a film, not real life. I know that image!” She declined to reveal which movie the still was from, but the clarification debunks years of rumors.
The Oscar winner also addressed another viral moment: her unusual clapping style at the 2017 Academy Awards. Imitating the move, she explained, “I had a massive heavy borrowed ring on, and it was really painful. I was scared of wrecking the jewelry. Ha! There’s always something behind the actual images that go out there, right?”
As for the memes inspired by her AMC movie theater commercials, Kidman embraces the humor. “Yeah, yeah. ‘Heartbreak feels good in a place like this.’ But I’ll do anything for cinema, so you can meme me as much as you want,” she said, reaffirming her passion for the big screen.
Kidman is currently receiving awards buzz for her daring role in Babygirl, a drama about a corporate executive’s affair with a younger intern, played by Harris Dickinson.
