The actor shared a video featuring his fellow Avengers cast members, opening with Scarlett Johansson’s playful, “Thanks for jumping on the call,” to which Don Cheadle responded, “I think you mean assembling!” Also joining the endorsement were Black Panther’s Danai Gurira, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Evans.
Gurira, in the video, rallied her co-stars, saying, “It is our pleasure to come together and get the vote out this election.” The Avengers tried brainstorming a slogan for Harris, with Gurira suggesting, “Kamala Forever.” They eventually agreed on, “I’m Kamala Harris, and I’m down with democracy,” though it’s unclear if Harris will adopt their catchy slogan.
Harris has also gained endorsements from numerous other celebrities, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Beyoncé, Sarah Jessica Parker, and more. Beyoncé made a notable appearance at a Harris rally in Houston on October 25, where she passionately encouraged the audience to “sing a new song” that reflects “dignity and opportunity.” Her speech stirred a call to unity, stating, “Our voices sing a chorus of unity.”
Meanwhile, DiCaprio shared his support on Instagram, tying his endorsement to his concerns about climate change, stating, “Climate change is killing the earth and ruining our economy. We need a bold step forward to save our economy, our planet, and ourselves.”
With some of Hollywood’s biggest stars behind her, Harris’s campaign is tapping into the power of celebrity voices as it heads toward a pivotal election.
