Marilyn Manson Drops Lawsuit Against Evan Rachel Wood, Agrees to Pay $327K in Legal Fees

Marilyn Manson has dropped his legal case against ex-fiancée Evan Rachel Wood, choosing to move on after years of battling in court. His lawyer, Howard King, confirmed that Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, dismissed the remaining claims and appeal in an effort to close this chapter of his life.

As part of the resolution, Manson agreed to pay nearly $327,000 in attorneys’ fees to Wood, as ordered by a judge earlier this year. Wood’s legal team presented a different perspective, stating that Manson had previously attempted to settle the case under confidential terms, which she rejected.

A representative for Wood criticized the lawsuit as a publicity stunt meant to discredit her and other accusers. They emphasized that the court found Manson’s claims meritless, and his decision to abandon the suit and pay the full fee award reinforced this conclusion.

The lawsuit stemmed from Wood’s allegations of sexual assault and abuse, which she detailed in the 2022 documentary Phoenix Rising and a 2021 Instagram post. Following the documentary’s release, over a dozen women accused Manson of similar abuse, with some filing lawsuits. Manson has denied all allegations and previously accused Wood and Illma Gore of fabricating claims against him, including impersonating an FBI agent.
