In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Lily-Rose addressed the criticism she has endured and defended her choice to follow her father’s footsteps in acting. “I feel like people have been ready to see me fail since I was a kid. That has made me want to work harder and prove people wrong—not vindictively, but as fuel to my fire. I want to show that I’m a hard worker and here for nothing else but to give my best,” she shared.
Growing up in the shadow of famous parents, Lily-Rose acknowledged the unique challenges faced by children of Hollywood stars. She reflected on how these hurdles have shaped her perspective. “You can sit there and cry about it, or you can work really, really hard and do your best,” she said.
Lily-Rose’s career began in 2016 with the French thriller Planetarium, alongside Natalie Portman. She later starred in The King with Timothée Chalamet and Robert Pattinson and recently made waves in The Idol (2023) with The Weeknd and Troye Sivan. Her upcoming project, Nosferatu, directed by Rob Eggers, features a star-studded cast including Bill SkarsgÃ¥rd, Emma Corrin, and Willem Dafoe. The film is set to release on December 25, 2024.
Reflecting on her role in Nosferatu, Lily-Rose expressed excitement about working with Eggers. “He was on my bucket list of directors. I didn’t think I’d get to work with him so early in my career,” she said.
Despite the challenges, Lily-Rose Depp remains resolute in her journey, turning criticism into motivation as she continues to evolve in the industry.
