In a video, Kim demonstrated some of the robot’s impressive features. She greeted it with a wave, which the android promptly returned. When she requested a heart gesture, the robot surprised her by completing it with its mechanical hand, leaving her visibly impressed.
Kim tested the robot further, asking it questions and showcasing its range of motion, from running to dancing. The SKIMS founder shared clips of these interactions on Instagram Stories, playfully captioning one post, "Meet my new friend 🦾🤖 @Tesla."
This isn’t Tesla's first celebrity spotlight. At the "We, Robot" event in October, rapper 2 Chainz also interacted with an Optimus unit, though it was revealed the bot was remotely controlled by a Tesla employee. Elon Musk has stated these robots will eventually be available to consumers, priced between $20,000 and $30,000.
While it’s unclear if Kim purchased the robot or received it as a gift, her enthusiasm for Tesla products is well-known—she already owns a Cybertruck, despite some recent challenges with the vehicle. Now, it seems her futuristic robot companion is the latest addition to her tech-savvy lifestyle.
