Jennifer Lopez Defends Puerto Ricans and Women at Kamala Harris Rally, Advocates for Voter Participation

Jennifer Lopez recently spoke out in defense of Puerto Ricans and women at a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris in Las Vegas, following the backlash from comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s racist jokes. During her speech, Lopez criticized former President Donald Trump, saying, “He has consistently worked to divide us.” She emphasized that the offense was not just aimed at Puerto Ricans but extended to all Latinos and decent people across the nation.

Lopez also championed female empowerment, declaring, “I believe in the power of women... the power of Latinos... and the power of all our votes.” Her remarks came in support of Harris, particularly after Hinchcliffe's controversial comments at a Trump rally in New York City. Alongside fellow artists Bad Bunny and Ricky Martin, Lopez shared a video from the Harris campaign, highlighting Trump’s disregard for Puerto Rico’s residents.

In the lead-up to the elections, Lopez has actively encouraged her fans to register to vote, stating, “Your vote is your voice and your power.” She serves as a co-chair for "When We All Vote," a nonpartisan initiative aimed at increasing voter participation. Last week, she even joined in a humorous song titled “Get Your A** Out & VOTE” to motivate people to head to the polls.

Lopez also took to social media to remind her followers of the upcoming election, sharing a clip from her Super Bowl LIV halftime performance. In the video, she proudly displayed both the Puerto Rican and American flags, urging fans to make their voices heard as Election Day approaches.

Her endorsement of Harris comes shortly after Beyoncé voiced her support for the Vice President at a rally in Houston. During her speech, Beyoncé expressed her concerns as a mother about the future of her children. Fans were left disappointed when the "Cowboy Carter" artist did not perform at the event. Taylor Swift had previously endorsed Harris in September, following her debate against Trump.
