Jason Kelce returned to ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown with an apology, addressing a recent incident that quickly gained attention online. Speaking from Arrowhead Stadium, the 36-year-old NFL retiree openly acknowledged his regrets.
"I think everybody's seen on social media everything that took place this week," Kelce said. "Listen, I'm not happy with anything that took place. I'm not proud of it. In a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate, and I just don't think that's a productive thing."
The incident occurred during Saturday’s Penn State vs. Ohio State game when Kelce reacted to a fan who reportedly directed a slur at his brother, Travis. In response, Kelce used a homophobic slur three times, a moment he now openly regrets.
Despite his apology, the situation isn't fully resolved. Authorities at Penn State have reportedly launched an investigation, leaving the aftermath of the altercation still unfolding. Kelce, however, expressed a desire to put the incident behind him and move forward.
