Jake Paul Reveals He Held Back Against Mike Tyson to Avoid Hurting Him

Jake Paul admitted to easing up on Mike Tyson during their recent boxing match, saying he noticed the 58-year-old legend struggling in the ring and chose not to push for a knockout. After securing a unanimous decision win at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Jake explained his decision to go easier on his opponent.

"Yeah, definitely," Jake said when asked if he held back in Round 3. "I wanted to give the fans a show, but I didn’t want to hurt someone who didn’t need to be hurt."

The 27-year-old also mentioned that Tyson’s punches lacked power, something he has encountered with other opponents throughout his career. Despite his efforts to make the fight entertaining, Jake acknowledged the challenge of engaging Tyson, who seemed to focus more on surviving the later rounds.

"So I couldn’t really get him to engage me or slip shots and do something super cool," Jake said. "But I don’t care what people say. They’re always going to have something to say."

While Tyson’s performance showed signs of his age, the former champion isn’t ready to retire just yet. After the match, Tyson called out Jake’s older brother, Logan Paul, for a potential fight, keeping fans curious about what’s next for the boxing legend.
