Halle Berry Challenges Aging Stereotypes, Advocates for Women’s Wellness

Halle Berry is addressing the double standards women face as they age, contrasting society's treatment of men and women. In an interview with Fortune, the Oscar-winning actress shared her frustration over being reduced to her physical appearance for much of her life. She expressed a desire to be recognized for more than just her looks, saying, "I have longed for someone to say something to me other than 'Oh, you’re so pretty!'"

At 58, Berry is determined to challenge the narrative around aging for women. Reflecting on the perception of aging men as "silver foxes," she noted, "Men get sexy, they get grey hair. We’re just old and haggard." Rejecting these stereotypes, Berry emphasized that aging has allowed her to truly hit her stride and hopes other women will embrace the same realization.

Berry, famous for her role as Catwoman, has become an advocate for changing societal attitudes toward aging and menopause. Earlier this year, she joined bipartisan senators to support a $275 million initiative aimed at advancing research and education about menopause. Her advocacy stems from personal experience, revealing how menopause symptoms initially led her doctor to misdiagnose her with a severe case of herpes.

To further support women navigating midlife, Berry launched her wellness brand, Respin, which focuses on health and empowerment during menopause. Her mission is clear: redefine the conversation around aging and help women embrace every stage of life with confidence.
