Once there, Zito was booked, fingerprinted, and had a mug shot taken. He was also placed in a cramped cell with five other men before being moved to another room. Zito was cuffed to a bench and left for four hours. Eventually, he was released without bail, facing a charge of possessing a forged instrument.
According to NYPD sources, Zito was initially stopped for having a “dealer plate,” which turned out to be fake when checked by the officer. This led to his arrest on a misdemeanor charge of possessing a forged license plate. Zito described the experience as “one HELLAVA DAY,” expressing frustration over the ordeal.
