Chloë Grace Moretz Comes Out as Gay, Endorses Kamala Harris

Chloë Grace Moretz, known for her roles in Kick-Ass and Nimona, publicly embraced her identity as a "gay woman" in an Instagram post on Friday, Nov. 1. The 27-year-old actress shared her early voting experience for the 2024 election, posting a picture of a sticker that read, "I voted early 2024" in red, white, and blue.

"I voted early and I voted for Kamala Harris," Moretz wrote in her caption. "There is so much on the line this election." She voiced her support for the Democratic presidential candidate, specifically praising Harris’s stance on women’s rights. "I believe the government has no right over my body as a woman, and that the decisions over my body should come ONLY from myself and my doctor," Moretz emphasized. "Kamala Harris will protect that for us."

Moretz further highlighted Harris's advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community, connecting it to her personal experience. "I believe in the need for legal protections that protect the LGBTQ+ community as a gay woman," she continued, expressing the importance of these rights for all. She urged her 24 million Instagram followers to make a voting plan, emphasizing that each vote counts.

Moretz has been in a long-term relationship with model Kate Harrison since 2018. Their relationship was first publicly noticed after they shared a kiss at Nobu in Malibu, and they have since frequently appeared on each other’s social media. Recently, the couple celebrated a friend’s wedding together in September, where they were pictured in affectionate poses, dressed in matching black outfits.

Harrison shared a similar post from the wedding, with a picture of their place card showing their names together. In June, the couple also attended New York City’s Dyke March together, further celebrating their shared experiences as part of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Earlier in the year, the couple sparked engagement rumors after being spotted with matching rings on their left hands during a visit to Disneyland. Moretz has worn the ring on several occasions since, including high-profile events such as a Louis Vuitton gathering in April and W Magazine’s event in March, and most recently at the Louis Vuitton Paris Womenswear Spring 2025 show in October.
