Caleb was sentenced to 8 years in prison—5 years behind bars, followed by 3 years of home detention, and 5 years of probation. In addition, he will be required to attend counseling and fulfill other legal obligations. Beasley noted that Caleb is finding strength in his faith and family, which will be key to helping him cope during his time in prison. Caleb has expressed his intentions to lean heavily on God throughout the process.
Despite the gravity of the situation, Caleb's lawyer shared that he has been asking practical questions about prison life, including security levels, as he tries to prepare for what lies ahead. Although Caleb has not openly admitted his fear, Beasley believes he is anxious but putting on a brave front.
The charges stem from a tragic incident in 2022, when Caleb crashed his 2011 Ford into a garage, resulting in the death of 54-year-old Larry Parris. Authorities alleged that Caleb had been using a weed pen before getting behind the wheel. He pled guilty to felony DUI resulting in death earlier this week. Throughout the legal proceedings, Caleb and his family have expressed ongoing prayers for the victim’s family.
