Jolie's connection to her character in the upcoming musical-drama Maria runs deep, as she plays the legendary opera singer Maria Callas. The role, which required Jolie to practice opera singing, also had her leaning on her sons, Maddox and Pax, for support. She humorously admitted that her early attempts at singing opera were tough for her kids to endure.
In a rare public appearance, Jolie was joined by her son Knox at the Governors Awards earlier this week. Despite Knox's usual desire to stay out of the limelight, he asked to accompany his mother, leading Jolie to happily bring him along. The pair turned heads, with Jolie in a stunning cream and gold dress, and Knox in a sleek black tuxedo. However, the gesture reportedly upset Jolie's ex-husband Brad Pitt, who believed it was a deliberate move to "push his buttons" amid their ongoing legal battles.
Adding to the tension, their daughter Shiloh recently dropped Pitt’s surname from her name on her birthday, further straining the family dynamic. Jolie's film Maria, in which she portrays the iconic opera singer, will be released in theaters in the US on November 27 and will stream on Netflix starting December 11.
