Louisiana Senate Approves Film Tax Credit, Saving 50 Cent’s G-Unit Studios in Shreveport

50 Cent’s G-Unit Studios in Shreveport will remain open after Louisiana lawmakers voted to keep the state’s film tax credit, despite trimming it down. The Louisiana Senate’s recent approval of a $125 million budget for the state’s film industry came after the House of Representatives proposed cutting the $150 million incentive for the 2025 fiscal year.

The news had 50 Cent worried, but he reassured his team that the studio would continue with renewed energy. The rapper and producer’s recent success with his Humor & Harmony festival in Shreveport, which brought in millions and maintained a safe environment, likely helped sway the decision.

Although the $25 million reduction might seem significant, 50 Cent has been focused on growing the local talent pool and giving rising stars the chance to shine in his hit series, bringing a new energy and “Bayou touch” to his productions.
