Stanley Tucci Reflects on Career Struggles and Teases Devil Wears Prada Sequel

Stanley Tucci recently opened up about the unpredictability of his Hollywood career during an interview with Vanity Fair. The 63-year-old actor recalled a challenging period after his memorable role as Nigel in The Devil Wears Prada, where he found himself struggling to find work. "I couldn't get a job," he shared, expressing his confusion over the situation.

Tucci explained that fluctuations in an acting career are common and can often be tied to the business itself or personal challenges. He candidly discussed how his battle with oral cancer six years ago impacted his career, saying it "threw a wrench into the works." Although he needed to work for financial reasons, he admitted he may have returned to acting too soon after his treatment, lacking the necessary energy.

Despite the hurdles, Tucci emphasized the importance of perseverance. He credited his wife, Felicity Blunt, with helping him through his illness, saying, "She had to drag me, kicking and screaming," but he now recognizes the vital role that treatment played in his recovery.

In exciting news for fans, a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada is reportedly in development. Original director David Frankel is back on board, with Tucci, Blunt, Anne Hathaway, and Meryl Streep in talks to reprise their iconic roles. When asked about the sequel's progress, Tucci humorously noted, "I can’t answer that. No one will let me answer that."
