Paul Mescal Denies Rumors of One-Night Stands, Opens Up About Family Impact

Paul Mescal is addressing the swirling rumors about his personal life, making it clear they are far from true. In an interview with GQ Magazine, the Gladiator II star opened up about the impact of the gossip, not just on himself but also on his family, especially his mom.

The rumors, which claimed that Mescal would leave in the morning after spending the night with his partner while they were distracted, hit the internet recently. The Irish actor, however, firmly shut down the speculation, calling it “categorically untrue.”

While the rumors bothered him personally, Mescal said the silver lining was that he and his siblings found it hilarious. “We couldn’t stop laughing,” he said. But things turned serious when he saw how much it upset his mom. “The one thing that upset me was being in the kitchen and seeing my mom watching the videos. She was getting upset. Isn’t that devastating?” he shared.

Despite the personal toll the rumors took, Mescal knows how the internet works and doesn’t let it drag him down for long. He added that if the rumors were true, they would have been more damaging, but since they weren’t, it was easier to brush them off and laugh.

As for his love life, Mescal is currently dating singer Gracie Abrams, but he’s determined to keep his private life away from public speculation. He noted, “I’m not comfortable inviting any access into that part of my life. It’s precious to me, and while it may be of public interest, it’s not public-obligated information.”

On a more positive note, Mescal’s career is thriving. His Oscar nomination for Aftersun brought a lot of joy to his family, even during tough times. His sister, Nell Mescal, shared on social media that the nomination came on the same day their mom prepared for chemotherapy, writing, “Life is so crazy.”

Looking ahead, fans can expect to see Mescal in a leading role opposite Pedro Pascal in Gladiator II, which is set to hit theaters on November 15 under the direction of Ridley Scott. It’s clear that while rumors may come and go, Mescal’s focus remains on his craft and keeping what matters most to him close to his heart.
