Lil Wayne's Former Bodyguard Sues Rapper for Alleged Assault Involving a Gun

Lil Wayne's former bodyguard, Carlos Christian, is taking the rapper to court over an alleged 2021 assault. According to court documents, Christian claims that Wayne (Dwayne Carter) physically attacked him on December 2, 2021, reportedly hitting him on the ear while holding a semiautomatic rifle. Christian is seeking compensation for what he describes as both physical and emotional distress caused by the incident.

In his court statements, Christian recalls events leading up to the altercation, mentioning that he was a regular security fixture at Wayne’s home, working from Monday through Thursday since June 2021. His responsibilities included escorting guests to the main entrance and assisting Wayne with various tasks, like showing him how to operate an ATV. On the night in question, Christian alleges Wayne suspected him of taking unauthorized photos, confronting him aggressively with, “Why the f—k you takin’ pictures, b—h a— n—a?” Christian insists he never drew his firearm, which he wore concealed under a loose sweater, and that he retreated with his hands raised as Wayne reportedly emerged with a rifle.

Wayne has denied the allegations, with his legal team describing Christian’s version as exaggerated. They argue Christian, who is physically larger than Wayne and was also armed, actually pushed the rapper during the incident. Further, they claim Christian’s later work with a different security firm undermines his claims of severe emotional trauma, PTSD, and ongoing distress from the incident.

Previously, Wayne requested that the court dismiss the case, asserting that Christian’s actions contributed to or caused the incident and that his response was in self-defense.
