Liam Neeson to Retire from Action Movies in 2025

Liam Neeson is set to retire from action movies, announcing that he will stop filming these types of films in 2025. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the 72-year-old star of the "Taken" series explained that it's time for him to move on, stating, "I'm 72 — it has to stop at some stage."

Neeson, known for doing many of his own stunts, admitted that he finds it hard to believe he can convincingly fight bad guys at his age. He emphasized, "You can’t fool audiences," and expressed his reluctance to let his stunt double, Mark Vanselow, take over his fight scenes.

Interestingly, Neeson didn't emerge as an action hero until he starred in "Taken" in 2008, when he was already 56. However, he feels satisfied with his action career, acknowledging that Father Time is undefeated.

While he is stepping away from action roles, Neeson will continue to act in other genres. He has recently completed filming for the upcoming "Naked Gun" reboot, hinting that fans can still look forward to more of his work in Hollywood.
