Johnny Depp Reignites Hollywood Career with Directorial Debut, Modi, Premiering at Rome Film Festival

Johnny Depp is making a bold return to Hollywood, debuting as director of Modi: Three Days on the Wings of Madness at the Rome Film Festival. Although Depp couldn't attend in person, he spoke with media outlets, sharing insights about the film and his personal journey. His directorial project comes after a challenging chapter marked by his publicized divorce from Amber Heard and a defamation trial over domestic violence allegations.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Depp expressed a renewed focus on his career, free from any bitterness. Reflecting on his turbulent experiences, he acknowledged, “Honestly, I can sit here this very second and think about all the hit pieces and how everybody was against me… Went through it all.” Despite the hardships, he emphasized that he holds no grudges, explaining, “Hatred requires caring. Why carry that baggage?”

Set in Paris during World War II, Modi dives into the chaotic life of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani. The film stars Al Pacino, Stephen Graham, Eva Jane Willis, and others, and captures Modigliani’s intense 72-hour struggle to find recognition for his art amidst the threats of war, police, and his personal entanglements. According to IMDB, the story unfolds as Modigliani races through Paris, dodging critics and bombs in a bid to secure his artistic legacy.

Modi will premiere in U.S. theaters on December 5, promising audiences a gripping blend of art, passion, and resilience.
