Jack Quaid Talks Nudity on The Boys: "I Just Want It to Stop"

Jack Quaid, star of The Boys, recently shared his thoughts on nudity in his acting career during a recording of the Happy Sad Confused podcast at New York Comic Con. The 32-year-old actor, known for playing Hughie Campbell on the hit series, expressed a desire to tone down the frequent nude scenes.

"Oh, man, I kind of just want nudity to stop," Quaid joked. "My butt’s had a lot of screen time, and it’s not a great one, you know?"

When asked if his family, including famous parents Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan, watches his racier moments on The Boys, Quaid replied, "Anything involved in my a--, I've just been like, 'Can you just not watch?' I mean, season 3, don't watch it. My butt's all over that thing."

The actor has previously opened up about how strange it feels to film nude scenes. During a 2022 appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, he humorously compared the "modesty wear" used to cover himself to "an at-home COVID test" and admitted it might be more uncomfortable than just being fully naked.

Although Quaid admits he has grown "slightly" more comfortable with nudity on set over time, he still finds it an odd experience. In a 2023 interview with Discussing Film, he even joked that stripping down was worth it for a particular scene where his character gains Nightcrawler-like teleportation powers: "I got naked for Nightcrawler powers!"
