Jamie Foxx Denies Rumors Linking Diddy to His 2023 Hospitalization

Jamie Foxx has sparked a wave of rumors after allegedly mentioning Sean "Diddy" Combs during a taping for his upcoming comedy special, What Had Happened Was. Sources close to Foxx, however, tell TMZ there's no truth to claims that Diddy had anything to do with Foxx's hospitalization last year.

During the Atlanta taping, held at Alliance Theatre, Foxx reportedly joked about his health scare, referencing Diddy. But insiders insist it was all in good humor. The 2023 medical emergency left fans speculating, and some attendees took his comments more seriously, with Page Six citing three different accounts from those present. While two audience members believed Foxx's remarks suggested a deeper truth, a third witness recalled him laughing it off, saying, "If [Diddy] was responsible, I’d be dead."

The rumors took on new life after producer Choke No Joke, who attended multiple tapings, spoke publicly about them. He claimed that industry insiders suspected Diddy had a hand in Foxx's hospitalization and that Foxx allegedly even mentioned contacting the FBI about the incident. Since no recording devices were allowed inside, however, it’s unclear exactly what was said and whether these comments will appear in the final cut of Foxx's special.

Foxx’s Netflix special, where he has teased he might reveal more about his health scare, does not yet have a release date.
